Ok, ok. I am REALLY behind on blogging. Work has been so busy and I just haven’t made the time to catch up on blogging sessions, but I am making that attempt now.
This sweet family came to me for beautiful mama’s maternity session, then little H’s newborn session, and then their family session for his first Christmas! Of course he has grown a ton since this session, but it was so cute that I couldn’t NOT share!

The S Family | A Formal Family Session
Dressing up for family pictures may sound like a chore, but it can actually be a fun experience! Whether you're coordinating outfits or going all out with matching themes, dressing up for family photos can bring a sense of unity and excitement to the occasion, and that is exactly what this family did!
One of the best parts about dressing up for family pictures is the opportunity to get creative and express your unique style. You can experiment with different colors, patterns, and textures to create a cohesive and eye-catching look that highlights your family's personality. Plus, it's a great excuse to go shopping and find new outfits that make you feel confident and stylish. I love how this family used mom's red dress as the anchor, and built the other outfits around it.
Certain styles can really bring a sense of occasion and make the experience feel special. When everyone puts in effort to look their best, it creates a sense of unity and togetherness that can be captured in the photos. Plus, it's a great opportunity to take some time out of your busy lives to spend quality time together and create lasting memories.
Dressing up may require some extra effort, but it can be a fun and rewarding experience that brings your family closer together. And who doesn't enjoy looking like they just stepped off the cover of a magazine?! So, embrace the opportunity to get creative and have some fun with your family's wardrobe for your next photo session!
The M Family | A Fall Family Session
Family photography sessions are the perfect way to capture memories and preserve the special moments that you share with your loved ones.
One advantage of having a family session is the opportunity to create lasting memories. A professional photographer can capture the genuine emotions and interactions that occur during the session, giving you images that you will treasure forever.
Another benefit of family sessions is the chance to bond and have fun together as a family. Each session provides a unique opportunity to spend quality time with your loved ones; time that is captured beautifully in images!
Working with a professional photographer can help ease tension or anxiety about being in front of the camera, too. They do this all the time and know how to make you look good!
Family sessions can also serve as a visual reminder of your family's growth and evolution over time. As your family grows and changes, so do your relationships and dynamics. A family session can capture these changes and milestones, providing a beautiful record of your family's journey.
Don't miss out on opportunities to creating lasting memories, and to document this growth and change. Time goes by SO quickly. I can speak from experience. If you haven't done it already, consider scheduling a family session to capture your family's own unique story!
The C Family | A Fall Family Session
Families come in all shapes and sizes and, no matter how big or small your family is, a family photography session can be a wonderful way to capture memories that will last a lifetime. Here are some benefits of booking a family session:
1. Capturing Memories. A photo session allows you to capture your family at a particular moment in time.
2. Quality Time. A family session is a chance for you to spend quality time together. You can use this time to bond and have fun, creating a relaxed and happy atmosphere that will shine through in your photos.
3. Professional Quality. While it's great to take photos with your phone, a professional photographer can capture your family in a way that you may not be able to on your own. A professional can help you pose, find the perfect lighting, and create images that will be of the highest quality.
4. Perfect for Gifts. Family photos are perfect for creating gifts for family members and friends. You can create albums, prints, and canvases that can be treasured for years to come.
5. Create Family History. Photos can help you create a visual family history that you can pass down to future generations. These images will be a testament to your family's love and connection, and will help tell your family's story.
Don't wait for the "perfect time" to create memories. The years go by so quickly. Capture your life as it is now. It's an investment you won't regret!
The L Family | A Fall Family Session
I know I’ve mentioned this before, but I just love this little family! I feel so honored to be able to capture their beauty and joy every year, and this year was no exception. We had an absolutely gorgeous day. GORGEOUS. I had never been to this location before, and that can be a bit unsettling, but I totally trusted Allison, as she’s not stranger to photography (and art!!). You might remember her for being the talent behind Go Gray Artwork. She is an exceptional artist and, if you haven’t already, you should definitely check her out!!
The spot turned out to be perfect, too! See for yourself!
The D Family | A Spring Family Session
This was the second time I had photographed this sweet family, but only the first time with their new little love!! I was so excited to meet him! We had a beautiful day, for sure. I just love the way they all interact! Check them out!
The W Family | An Extended Family Session
We all know how precious time with family is, especially when the family lives on the other side of the globe. The W family took advantage of some recent time together to capture the WHOLE family! It was chilly, but such a beautiful day. How sweet are all the cousins together, too? I’m so thankful they put their trust in me to capture this treasured time together.
The M Family | A Family Session
While I was in North Carolina a couple months ago, I was able to meet with this sweet little family for some Christmas pictures!! I couldn’t get over their cute jammies! How adorable are they?!
The C Family | A Urban Family Session
Anyone who knows me, knows that this is one of my favorite families ever. I have known S for about 20 years now. We worked in the same building and enjoyed many lunch-time coffee runs, shopping trips, and shared sandwiches at the Renaissance Cafe. Our friendship grew and grew over time. We were due with our boys only two weeks apart. We have been through so much together and she truly is the sister I never had.
Her sweet family moved to North Carolina several years ago and, although we have seen each other briefly a few times, this was the first time since they moved that we were able to spend an entire weekend (and then some!!) together. All 10 of us!! During the trip, OF COURSE I had to grab some family pictures!
Downtown Winston-Salem made for a gorgeous backdrop and I am SO pumped about how these turned out!!
The C Family | A Winter Family Session
Check out the adorable C family! It might have been cold out, but it’s nothing some snuggles can’t handle. Miss R was such a great big sister as she tried to warm up little E. It was just the SWEETEST!! It was so nice to meet this lovely family and have the chance to capture them!!
The K Family | A Family Session
Well, this fall really proved to be a challenging one. While I had to reschedule many sessions, this one won for most times rescheduled. I felt SO bad for this family. The weather and sickness got in the way time and time again. We FINALLY ended up getting together, and it was an absolutely beautiful day, too!
The B Family | A Winter Family Session
Here we have another beautiful snow storm Christmas Tree farm session! It was such a blustery day! I still can’t believe how hard the snow came down. It was so cold and wet, but they toughed it out and got some sweet shots. Check them out!
The M Family | A Fall Family Session
Each year, I look forward to photographing this family. They are such fun, kind people!! For the second year now, their sweet pup joined them, as well. He is too adorable for words! I just HAD to include him in this blog post because the world needs to see him. 😀
The L Family | A Fall Family Session
This was my third year photographing the delightful L family. Watching their precious daughter grow is just amazing. I know I have mentioned this before, but mom is an incredible talented artist. In addition to her own shop, her work has been featured in numerous stores across the country!
Check out some of the images from this year’s session. We had such a great time!!
The H Family | A Summer Family Session
This summer, I had the pleasure of working with this beautiful family from the DC area! They were up visiting family and asked if I would do their session while they were in town. It had been about 7 years since I had last seen them, so I couldn’t believe how grown the kids were!! We had an absolutely gorgeous day!
The C & J Family | A Family Session
I met with this lovely family one gorgeous evening for some family pictures. We also did senior pictures of their youngest son, but I will blog those another time! This family was so sweet during their session and even brought their adorable four-legged child, Megan!
The C Family | A Fall Family Session
Sometimes it’s fall and you land upon the most magical light during a session. That happened with the C family! This light was so dreamy and this family was perfection! In addition to just being the CUTEST, mom and dad must be doing something right, because their three littles were absolute dreams!! The most well-behaved children ever, and SO much fun!!!
The C Family | An Extended Family Session
The C family reached out to me to capture pictures of their family when they were all in town. We met at their family’s farm on a gorgeous fall day. The sun was shining bright, and all the little cousins were so happy to see one another! It was such a great day!
The L Family | A Fall Family Session
I am a really lucky lady. Not only do I have a super cool job, but I get to work with amazing people. You may remember me posted about my cousin, Allison, last year. Well, I had the pleasure of working with her sweet family again this year! They chose a beautiful vineyard as their location, and it could not have been more stunning! They chose beautiful colors and little L was ALL smiles. It was such a great evening!
The S Family | A Fall Family Session
The S family invited me to their home for a family session this fall. The weather was questionable, so we moved most of the session inside. This sweet little family played games, read stories, and cuddled while I captured these moments. It was so much fun! I loved watching them interact with one another.
